HERE 4 U: Pre–Pride Happening, SOMArts’ first in-person
event in a year celebrates queer dreaming and imagination

June 10, 2021, San Francisco, CA–SOMArts proudly announces their first onsite event since the 2020 shelter in place ordinance, HERE 4 U: Pre Pride Happening on Wednesday, June 23, 6–8 PM PST with limited tickets. In historic moments of uncertainty and fear, queer Black, Indigenous, people of color have always gathered to carve space for joy and connection. As we steadily emerge from a year of isolation with caution and longing for community, HERE 4 U: Pre Pride Happening transforms SOMArts’ garden patio into an intimate event that celebrates intergenerational queer dreaming and imagination.
“HERE 4 U is inspired by the chosen families that have kept queer communities going for generations,” says Tara Marsden, SOMArts Development Intitiatives Manager. “Even in the darkest of times, we’ve always found ways to celebrate queer joy and HERE 4 U upholds that legacy of community care.”
This garden event features performances by queer Bay Area artists whose work embodies the resilience and joy of LBGTQ+ community: Chuck Gunn will be moving guests with his trippy, stripped-back selection of acid house and dub techno, while iconic Bay Area queens Dulce de Leche, Yves Saint Croissant, and Nicki Jizz round out the evening with out-of-this-world drag performances that will delight and surprise.
SOMArts’ COVID–19 protocols will be finalized following the announcements by state and local health officials June 15th. SOMArts’ current policy can be found in SOMArts’ COVID–19 safety plan. Due to limited capacity, guests all must be registered and day of event walk ups will not be accepted.
Tickets to this event are sold by the table for $80, with a maximum of 4 seats per table. Each seat is valued at $20. HERE 4 U performances will be live-streamed and accessible online with registration ($10).
HERE 4 U is a 21+ event.

COVID–19 Safety Protocols
While at SOMArts, guests must follow COVID–19 signage and safety instructions per SOMArts’ staff persons. Guests will be asked to “mask up” when approached by SOMArts’ staff and servers, and when moving between tables and bathrooms.
Please note that additional COVID–19 safety precautions may be finalized for this event following the announcements by state and local health officials June 15th. Instructions for guests will be updated on our COVID–19 Safety page and emailed to guests who register for the event.
