As part of QCC’s National Queer Art Festival visual exhibition, BLOOM Collective and xtal azul will host In Solidarity: Teach-in for a Free Palestine on Sunday, June 16, 12–5 PM PST. Featuring a day of intensive workshops, participants will learn how to collectively fight intersecting oppressions by building power, strategy, and creating art.
Mx. Yaffa, Executive Director of the Muslim Alliance for Sexual and Gender Diversity (MASGD), will lead the first hour followed by breakout sessions into the following tracks:
- Track One: Building Power and Strategy with Mx. Yaffa and Avé
- Track Two: Art as Resistance with Mama Ganuush and Leila Mire
During the lunch break between 2:30-3:30 PM PST, participants can purchase a signed copy of Mx. Yaffa’s latest book, “Desecrated Poppies,” to be released on June 19th.
Event ticket information:
This program is free for Palestinians and others directly impacted by the ongoing genocide. Attendees are asked to contribute a sliding scale donation between $10–$100, no one turned away for lack of funds. Larger donations will offset the cost of other attendee tickets. 50% of ticket sales will go toward QCC programming and the remaining 50% will be donated to the Muslim Alliance for Gender and Sexual Diversity (MASGD), a mutual aid network supporting queer and trans Palestinians in Palestine.
