About the Exhibition
Cycles of Death and Rebirth
As an artistic process, Funeral Faust, also known as Naz, engages in a meditative practice to release emotion and empty out a body flooded with anxiety onto canvas. They create to seek meaning within existence–a path to happiness, balance, pleasure, and sadness. Through repetitive brush movements, memories and experiences rise to the surface, leaving behind physical expressions of the intangible.
As an ethos, Naz creates to destroy and for rebirth, for divine self, to leave a mark for when the soul leaves this realm. The artist shares:
“If anything can be created from existence and human experience, let it be art.
This exhibition is on view from April 7–May 27, 2025
